Doing business in India can be tricky. For business owners from UK and Singapore, India is not an easy country to navigate. There are different federal laws, tax structures, cultures and trends. Even as we rush towards a more prosperous economy, for many foreign businesses India can still be confusing and a little too different.
Market research companies in India just make the entry smoother and considerably painless. We see ourselves as partners for our foreign clients, helping them to understand this complex market. Luckily, there is no dearth of choices when it comes to good research firms in India. On the flip side, that itself causes its own problem. How do you pick one?
Finding a market research agency is a bit like finding the right fit of clothes. You want something that fits you just right, feels comfortable and makes you look good. That is, unfortunately, easier said than done. So, how do you sift through the many possibilities?
We wish we could tell you to just pick one, but life is never that easy. So, before you choose a research agency, do some research of your own. Start with your shortlist of agencies.
Know what you are looking for: Surprisingly, very few clients are actually clear on their goals. This will help you find the right specialists and as an added bonus, it helps us to know what you want us to do!
Know your team: Don’t be fooled by the snazzy presentation. Find out who will actually be working with you. Do you feel comfortable with them? Look for their communication skills. If they cannot communicate with you, they won’t have any better luck with your research.
Ask for references: Ask your Indian market research company for references. Now ask their clients about their experience with the agency, their punctuality, communication skills and ability to overcome challenges.
